The ambience of the building, and the inside of the floors was wonderful. The ancient elevator was very interesting and a lot of fun.

Staff are very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Location is wonderful, so easy to walk to dinner and breakfast places. The room was quite small but very clean. Was thinking we would hear a lot of noise/laughter on a Friday night from the bar area downstairs but it was fine.

I loved its unique layout as a building in general, lots of nooks and crannies to get lost in. I love the price of a room so much (cheapest in the city) and I expected a crap hotel, but low prices does mean crap in this case. This is a special hotel, rich with history, and it has a comedy club too?? What a bargain, what an experience I had. I was having such a bad day to be honest with you, I got kicked out of my place, and didn’t have much money, so when I saw this place I gave it a try. The staff were amazing and attentive, the bar and waitstaff were awesome as well. Everybody was super friendly, and did I mention it has a comedy club here?? There were like 100 people for a show!!!! NO OTHER HOTEL HAS THAT, screw the four seasons, the Westin, whatever. This hotel is a gem.

Location, staff, cleanliness, toiletries, charm, hot shower. The elevator is one of a kind- very cool. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. Room was immaculately cleaned daily.

The room was spacious, quiet and with good views. Everything was clean. The hotel tavern has a lot of charm and we enjoyed a very funny monologue show. Excellent location too.

Great location, within walking distance of the Dupont Metro Station. The room was comfortable and relatively quiet, considering it's on a busy street.

Good location. If you’re upper middle class you’ll complain and be probably call this place ghetto, but if you’re upper middle class stay at an upper middle class hotel. The room was clean, and I make sure to inspect everything before dropping my bags, and for the price, that’s all I want. Didn’t do anything in the room but sleep. Staff was friendly and helpful in pointing out good spots to eat and go out for a good time. Overall for the price of things in DC this place is a 10, absolute gem. Won’t stay anywhere else when I come back to visit. There’s a bar and comedy club downstairs and the staff there is also very friendly.

I was given Room 401 which was overlooking the beautiful historical Presbyterian Church opposite. It was a picture postcard view from my room on the fourth floor. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and ensuite were immaculately clean. The elevator is old but works when you figure out operating the two doors. The entrance is a bit run down, but the view from the room and cleanliness make up for it. The hotel is walking distance from DuPont Metro Station.

Friendly people, bar and comedy club in lobby, right in a cool neighborhood. Reminded me of living in San Francisco. If youre looking for a five star hotel, this isnt it, but if youre looking for a quaint experience, it is!

The location was great close to almost everything in DC. The room was small but didn't spend much time in it, the price was great, and it has a comedy club along with a quint neighborhood bar, food was great as well.
